The Märchenwiese is a beautiful spot in Bodental, a side valley of Gailtal in Carinthia. It is located at an altitude of 1,800 meters and is surrounded by high mountains. The meadow is a popular destination for hikers, nature lovers, and families.
How to get there?
The Märchenwiese can only be reached on foot. There are numerous rewarding hiking trails leading to it, with one of the most popular routes being through the Tscheppaschlucht and the Meerauge.
Alternatively, you can get even closer by car. The shortest route is to park your car on the road in front of Gasthaus Bodenbauer (Bodental 125, 9163 Ferlach). From here, a wide forest path leads to the meadow. The path is suitable for children and strollers. It takes approximately 20-30 minutes for one way.
