In the picturesque region of Carinthia, a house is set to be constructed on a steep and secluded hillside, just above the fog line, offering unobstructed views. Positioned at the highest point of the plot, the building connects to the road via a bridge.
Upon arrival, the structure appears modest, with few intentional openings. However, as it descends the slope, it unfolds to its full height over two stories, revealing panoramic views of the distant Karawanken mountains. Drawing inspiration from local agricultural buildings, the design incorporates a stone base, cantilevered roof, and an open walkway—all rooted in the traditional use of wood.
The house is envisioned as a wooden construction on a concrete base. Beneath a large, sloping roof with generous eaves, the living spaces, walkways, and recessed loggias form outdoor areas. The emphasis lies on a simple, serene structure, creating a retreat that allows inhabitants to engage with the landscape in all conditions.
