Finished second on Boston College’s career doubles list with 58 … ranked on seven other career record lists including games started (tied fifth – 188), at bats (sixth – 716), walks (tied eighth – 93), games played (tied eighth – 190), reached base safely (ninth – 295), sacrifice flies (tied ninth – 9) and strikeouts (second – 152) … hit 21 doubles in 2015 which is tied for fourth on BC’s single-season list.

AS A FRESHMAN (2014)
Played in 27 games, making 23 starts in left field and two as the designated hitter ... also made five appearances on the mound ... HITTING: Recorded a .237 batting average with 22 hits, 11 runs, 14 RBIs and 13 walks ... third on the team with a .376 slugging percentage and 13 doubles ... fifth with a .327 on-base percentage ... also recorded four multiple-hit games and four multiple-RBI games ... batted .234 in ACC action with 15 hits, six runs and eight RBIs ... 10 doubles in league play tied for fourth in the ACC at the end of the regular season ... registered two four-game hit streaks ... was 5-for-8 with a runner on third and less than two outs ... recorded a season-high two runs in the final game of the season at No. 25 Clemson (5/17) ... went 2-for-4 with a double against Maine (5/13) ... tallied a two-run double against Maryland (3/25) ... went 2-for-4 with a run, two RBIs, two doubles and two walks in the Eagles’ 11-inning, 9-7 victory at NC State (4/20) ... recorded a career-high and tied a team season-high five RBIs while tallying a season-high three hits in four at bats in the 10-inning victory over UMass-Lowell (4/16) ... BEFORE BC
A three-year varsity member on St. Francis … the Lancers earned a share of the West Catholic Athletic League title each of those years (2011-13) … garnered WCAL First-Team All-League honors in 2012 and 2013, as well as the Daily News Third-Team All-Region honors in 2012 … captained the Lancers senior year … St. Francis won the Division 1 Central Coast Section (CCS) title, finished as the ranked No. 1 in Northern California and No. 2 in the state of California and were nationally ranked between fifth and 14th in major polls … as a senior, earned WCAL and CSS Player of the Year Awards, the Bay Area Player of the Year Award, Mercury News First-Team and Player of the Year Award, the Diamond Dozen Award, given to the top players in the area,  Louisville Slugger 2013 High School All-American Second-Team honors, MaxPrep California Large School All-American honors, CalHiSports First-Team All-California, MaxPrep Baseball All-American Second-Team honors, named to the Rawlings Gold Glove Team and was named a finalist for CalHiSports Baseball Player of the Year … in 13 appearances, registered an 11-1 record with one save, seven complete games, five shutouts, a 1.30 ERA and 79 strikeouts over 80 innings … pitched a perfect game in the first round of the 2013 CCS Division 1 playoffs, needing only 66 pitches to complete the effort … batted .417 with a .476 on-base percentage and a .556 slugging percentage as a senior, racking up 22 RBIs and 29 runs.

Graduated with a communication degree from the College of Arts and Sciences … Michael is the younger of Mark and Kathy Strem’s two children.
