Description

Fords Cousin, the Mercury Eight was produced from 1939-51, this is the 1949 model of the 3rd generation, which kicked of soon after the war, the 3rd generation adopted a pontoon appearance. Available in 2 door Coupe, Convertible, Wagon and 4 door Sedan. In 1950, the high- end Monterey coupe was introduced, in the same vein as the Ford Crestliner, the Lincoln Lido and the Lincoln Cosmopolitan Capri. 1951 saw an update to the grille-indicator treatment James Dean drove this car in the 1955 movie Rebel Without a Cause Engine; 155 cu in flathead V8
