Description
Deutsch: Die Genottehöhe wurde nach dem im Jahr 1831 in Villach, Kärnten, Österreich, geborenen, Louis Genotte Edler von Streitwall benannt. Er war ein Offizier und kehrte nach seiner Pensionierung als k. und k. Oberstleutnant in seiner Heimatstadt zurück. Hier erwarb er sich große Verdienste um die Stadtverschönerung.

Der Name „Genottehöhe“ wurde erstmals im Jahr 1902 nachgewiesen. Louis von Genotte schätzte diesen Aussichtspunkt sehr.

Der Gasthof Genottehöhe wurde 1949 von Josef Petritsch eröffnet. Seit diesem Zeitpunkt hatte der Gasthof mit dem schönsten Blick über Villach nie geschlossen und ist ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel in Oberkärnten.
