Stams Abbey in Tyrol

Stams Abbey is one of the most important monasteries in Austria. It was founded in 1273 as a family foundation of the Counts of Görtz Tyrol.

Today's monastery was rebuilt in the 17th century after a number of destructions (a fire, looting, damage from the Peasants' War) and completely renovated at the beginning of the 21st century.
