Dungeons of Hinterberg Isn’t Just About Slaying Monsters But Social Aspects

In Xbox’s latest showcase featuring indie and third-party titles, the Dungeons of Hinterberg debuted a new trailer shining a light on the social side of the game.

The new trailer takes a look at Dungeons of Hinterberg’s main character Luisa. It showcases meeting new people as well as growing relationships as you progress through the game. It’s not all about just killing foes but making friendships with townspeople too. Players will be armed not only with a sword but also a tourist guide to help navigate the dungeons with shrouded magic to uncover. There are puzzles to unravel and monsters to destroy. Leveling up friendships also unlock new perks such as removing goo stains from loot, very useful.

You may have dreamed of taking a leisurely trip to a modern-day village in the Austrian Alps. But instead of spending time skiing or hiking, you will be defeating deadly monsters, hunting for loot and tackling puzzles. These have become the latest tourist attractions, taking the interest of brave adventures from around the world.

If slaying monsters, exploring the Alps, meeting the locals or solving enigmas takes your fancy, Dungeons of Hinterberg could be your next memorable indie game to play. I think that NPC relationships can add that extra layer of immersion in games and also can have great world-building. Some quirky characters can be truly memorable and even start fandoms within the player community, whether you love or hate them.

Dungeons of Hinterberg arrives on Xbox Series and PC via Steam in spring 2024. It will also be coming to Xbox Game Pass.
