The Heavy Metal band Manowar will embark on a UK tour in November 2009. Despite having an album entitled “Hail To England”, the tour will be Manowar’s first appearance on UK soil in 15 years, as Manowar last played the UK in 1994 when they played a show at the Marquee in London, and their first full fledged UK tour in 20 years.

Bassist Joey DeMaio had this to say:

“It’s time, once again, for Manowar to conquer the United Kingdom after so many years of waiting! We all feel really bad in Manowar for neglecting you guys for so long, we’ve just never had the chance to give you guys the proper Manowar experience, but now… finally! We will return to English Soil! We can’t wait!”

The tour dates are as follows:

11th November – Glasgow

SECC
14th November – Newcastle Metro Radio Arena
18th November – Manchester

Evening News Arena
19th November – Birmingham NEC
21st November – Cardiff International Arena
source: FPR

24th November – Dublin RDS Arena
27th November – Bournemouth International Centre
29th November – London Wembley Arena
30th November – London Wembley Arena

The tour will be a co-headline jaunt with Metal legends Heaven And Hell, with the two rotating headliner status each night. Interestingly, Manowar first met at a

concert with Dio in a line-up which forms the core of Heaven And Hell today. Support will come from Iced Earth (who toured with H&H on their last UK tour), Mob Rules and Holyhell.

Heaven and Hell vocalist Ronnie James Dio had this to say:

“It’s a pleasure to be able to share the stage with my good friends in Manowar. It’s seems weird to think that we are sharing a headline spot with a band that formed at a Black Sabbath gig, but they certaily have come on in leaps and bounds since then! I can’t wait to get on the road with Mob Rules as well, they are certainly more than worthy of the name! It is an honour to bring back Manowar for the fans after all these years to the UK, but make no mistake, this tour is as much about H&H as it is Manowar! We’ve got a great new album that we’re really looking forward to playing for you guys, so see you soon!”

Heaven and Hell’s new album “The Devil You Know” is released on April the 27th, and Manowar are currently writing a new album which is due for release in late 2009/early 2010.
