This past June, Warner Bros. Games revealed the official gameplay debut trailer for the latest Mortal Kombat game. But instead of moving forward numerically, the new game takes it back and is aptly titled Mortal Kombat 1. The franchise has now revealed a new gameplay trailer that adds Geras to the main playable character lineup.

As showcased in the new trailer, Geras is an eternal entity who has been remade by Liu Kang. In Geras’ reconstruction, he keeps a hold of the memories that exist across several timelines. As a particularly strong character, Geras holds the ability to manipulate time by rewinding, freezing and replaying it, which is all in an effort to protect Liu Kang. The new trailer illustrates Liu Kang and Geras working together alongside a range of high-energy fights.

Mortal Kombat 1 offers a fresh take on the franchise’s storyline. But even in its newness, the game sees MK superstars Sub-Zero, Raiden, Scorpion, Liu Kang, Kitana, Mileena and more. Mortal Kombat 1 is set to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC on September 19.

Check out the new trailer above.

In other news, a fan previews an impressive Simpsons: Hit and Run remake created on Unreal Engine 5.
