From West to East
From west to east in six days through the mountain massif of the Karwendel.
The path is the goal
Counterclockwise through the Karwendel
From west to east the Karwendel Höhenweg trail runs from Reith near Seefeld to Scharnitz. On six stages the mountaineers get to know the impressive Karwendel mountains better. Overnight stays are at the five Alpine Club huts along the way.
Stage 1: Reith bei Seefeld – Nördlinger Hütte
Reith can be easily reached by public transport and the first stage tour starts directly at the station. After about three hours you reach the first intermediate destination – the Nördlinger Hütte hut.
Stage 2: Nördlinger Hütte – Solsteinhaus
From the Alpine Club hut of the DAV section Nördlingen, this stage leads via the Ursprungsattel and the Eppzirler Scharte to the Solsteinhaus hut, which belongs to the OeAV section Innsbruck.
Stage 3: Solsteinhaus – Pfeishütte
A border crossing between the rocky Karwendel massif and the heavily populated Inn valley awaits mountaineers on the third stage of the Karwendel Höhenweg trail.
Stage 4: Pfeishütte – Bettelwurfhütte
There are already illustrations on the Stempeljoch from the Innsbruck mountaineering company “Wilde Bande”, which was founded in 1878 and also built the trail of the same name between Stempeljoch and Lafatscher Joch.
Stage 5: Bettelwurfhütte – Hallerangerhaus
From the “Eagle’s Nest of the Karwendel” the trail leads over the Lafatscher Joch to the Hallerangerhaus hut. Nearby, the Isar river has its source here, which is therefore Tyrolean in origin.
