Beer? Yes. German Beer? Double Yes! We're a beer hall and tavern specializing in great German food that goes great with, you guessed it, German beer. We also serve German styles of beer that are made in New York State, as well as German and Austrian wines and alpine focused aperitifs and cocktails. Our kitchen is lead by CIA graduate chef Christie Flanagan. We make everything in-house including pretzels, kraut, flammkuchen, sauerbraten and rouladen. We serve Schaller & Webber sausage and use locally sourced meat and produce when available.

We recently went to Jagerberg with a group of 31 and it was phenomenal. I made the reservation a few weeks in advance and they gave us a pre-fixe menu to choose from which made the night really easy. The food was delicious and the service was top notch. We had tons of kids and it was hectic - and everyone left really happy. I rarely write unsolicited positive reviews - but felt like this was worth it!! The food was seriously SO good and the space was beautiful.

Stoped in at Jagerberg for Après-ski brunch - lunch. Opened with a Hofbrau Dunkel which hit the spot. Dark amber and flavorful. I then ordered the Frickadellen which is there take on a German burger of sorts. Ground beef and pork patty with cheese, mustard, horse radish and pickle served on a pretzel roll with a side of German potato salad. It definitely had a German flair and I really liked it. All in all it was an excellent experience. My only knock is that the menu was quite limited and didn't include very many German staples. While working up an appetite skiing I was looking forward to having a brat or two and perhaps a knockwurst. None were on the menu. Perhaps it was just the day I was there? Even so, I had an excellent experience and will definitely drop in again the next time I'm in Hunter. Oh, I sat at the bar and the service was on point. The ambiance is pretty basic. The decor is somewhat German but not over the top.

Jägerberg beer hall was a complete letdown. The service was shockingly slow and indifferent, turning a simple meal into a frustrating ordeal. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive, making it difficult to get basic assistance.
The quality of the food and drinks was far from impressive. The menu boasted variety, but the execution was lackluster. The flavors were bland, and the presentation was uninspiring. Considering the prices, I expected a much more enjoyable dining experience. Unfortunately, Jägerberg failed to deliver on every front, leaving me with a regrettable experience. Jägerberg Beer Hall was not what we expected and let my party and I down. I believed that they would know how to handle a crowd by now, but oh man I was wrong. We waited and waited for our food for what seemed like an eternity . We were left sitting there with no waiter checking in or asking if we'd like another drink. Not the most enjoyable experience. On top of that, the food was far too expensive for what we got. $28 for a sad bland schnitzel? Hmm I don't think so. Sadly, this dinner was a bust and it definitely didn't check our boxes.

It's ok - not great. My entree was kind of tasteless , my partner liked hers though. The beer was pretty good, prices reasonable and the service was great.
Not many options in the area, so if I'm by Hunter, I'd go again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - Patti G.Ramsey, NJ4467111Oct 14, 2023
We love this place! We go off-season, so we never have a problem getting in. It's a little loud but the staff is really friendly. The food is good and the drinks are great. One of our favorites in the area.

Deliciously authentic German schnitzels and wursts and sauerkraut and cabbage and rosti and of course flammenkuchen, a German version of pizza with sweet caramelized onions, smoky bacon and something they call alpine cheese. It's amazing. Great German beer selections, and the most extensive after dinner schnapps, liqueurs and digestifs offerings available anywhere. Friendliest and hardest working servers cheerfully move up and down the stairs all night . Best place for apres-ski, apres-hike or apres-anything.

Had a great dinner here! This such a nice, refined beer hall, and the perfect spot to celebrate our friend's birthday.
We planned a dinner party for 18 people in the beer hall area, and Jagerberg was helpful and responsive throughout the reservation process. Due to our group size, we opted for the family style menu (choosing three apps and three entrees from the menu), and it was PLENTY of food for everyone... we even had leftovers to take home! We were also wowed at how delicious everything was - typically I don't think much of German food, but the food here was on another level. Everyone raved about the apps (pate, steak tartare, and calamari), and enjoyed all the entrees (chicken jagerschnitzel, nurnberger bratwurst platter, German style berkshire pork ribs). We opted out of the dessert but I bet they'd also be delicious.
Service was wonderful and ambiance was great. The prices are on the higher end, but I feel like the quality is definitely reflected!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
