This place was cool but there aren't a whole lot of animals inside. It appears its mostly to show a desert ecosystem, which is cool!
This was included in our ticket that we bought so we figured we'd go, AND it was right next to the zoo.
This was a nice little visit and I would come back again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 3, 2015
The Wustenhaus or Desert House was a delightful little surprise in the Schonbrunn Park. If you're planning to visit the Grosses Palmenhaus, it makes sense to pay the small additional fee to come here as well.
Inside, you'll find the recreation of a desert environment - cactuses and succulents galore. There are plenty of non-plant inhabitants too - scorpions (safely behind glass), lizards (same thing) and plenty of free-flying birds. This makes a great stop for kids who'll enjoy watching the birds swoop around - but I liked it a great deal too!
A visit won't take long - maybe 30 or 40 minutes, but it's a wonderful stop especially if it's chilly outside!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
