My VFC/G&P HK416

I’m sure your wondering what I mean by VFC/G&P 416, your right G&P have nothing at all to do with the usual VFC 416 however mines a little different. The kit I used is focuses around the navy seals, due to their recent exposure in the media I’m not the only one, and after a year of my MK18 BLOCK II build I thought it time to upgrade.

Knowing exactly what I wanted I set to work to build my very own 416 which, as no one sells just the kits, I knew wouldn’t be a walk in the park. However it all fell together much faster than I thought. While looking through the various forums I was that my friend had indeed a VFC 416 for sale with a systema gear box that no longer functioned, for £175. After trawling the forums and groups I had everything needed for my 416 base gun bar the gear box or motor so I started scouting.

Having spent about 2 hours looking for a gearbox to drop in I had no look so started looking at full guns to take parts from after much back and forth with a few guys i still had nothing to show and started looking through retailers. Almost giving up I visited military first and found they had both G&P gearboxes and motors in stock, however I went to their range of guns to see what else was available and to my surprise a G&P sale was on.

I bought myself for a very respectable £150 a G&P M4A1 brand new from a retailer which, let’s be honest, I was over the moon with as the parts alone would cost me more. Needless to say when the gun arrived the first thing I did was remover the gearbox and motor and move it into the 416 body, after rear wiring it to deans. Then it was complete, something I’d thought would take me around 2-3 months was made within two weeks. The G&P body was sold to fund a new EOtech clone and magnifier for the rifle which went alongside the pieces from my previous BLOCK II build. Not being a fan of magpul I had not ventured in to they’re products before, apart from their mags, however decided to get myself involved with the 416. This included the pistol and forward grip, the back plate/sling adaptor, trigger guard stock.

The internals of my now favourite rifle comprised of madbull inner barrel and hop, a standard G&P gearbox and an M120 motor. For those who don’t know, the gearboxes and motors can be very high speed which resulted in a favourable trigger response and a fear mongering shout of 29 RPS on an 11.1v LiPo battery. However whilst this all sounds great the fact is that every three or four shots it would seem the air seal lacked and the shot travelled around five feet before hitting the ground. To combat this I’ve stuck some sticky back Velcro on the mag well to push the Emags forward to seat properly, this seems to be working for me at the moment so will stick with it.

With a light dusting of krylon to the actual gun and an ugly AOR1-ish paintjob for the accessories, to me my gun looks like the knees of the bee. It’s now a pleasure to use and fire at a comfortable 336 fps. Since the photos were taken I’ve replaced the HK sights and replaced them with KAC 600m BUIS. I hope you’ve enjoyed the run through of my rifle and I would greatly appreciate it if you could write up something similar for your rifle and send them to my facebook so we can hopefully get a collection going. Thanks for reading guys and like my facebook page for updates on new material.
