Hardegg Castle

Burg Hardegg

Hardegg Castle is one of the most powerful and best maintained Austrian castles of the early middle age and one of the oldest in middle Europe. It rises above the National Park and the Thaya Valley from its stone hill.

What to see: the fortifications and the castle rooms, the romanesque chapel, Emperor Maximilian of Mexico Museum and the Khevenhüller Exhibition. The armoury and dungeon can only be seen with a guided tour.
