Peperomia are slow growing tropical annuals and perennials that are easy to care for under average room or conservatory conditions. They have striking foliage with red stems. The foliage is fleshy, often with variegation. The fowers are insignificant. These plants need a minimum temperature of 10C. P. obtusifolia ‘Variegata’ come in shades of dark green, olive green and creamy white. This attractive plant is often used in bottle gardens and in other situations where space is limited.
Top and bottom watering both work well for peperomia plants. A important thing is that you water thoroughly, let a pot drain completely, and avoid getting water on a leaves.
Mix the recommended amount of liquid fertilizer and water in a watering can. Then simply pour the mix into the soil as if you're watering the plant.
Avoid using heavy soil. It may be too compacted for your potted plant and won't allow air to get to the roots.
Trim out dead and damaged leaves any time, pinching off or cutting off each of those leaves at its base. Avoid cutting into a plant's main stems or its crown, which is where its leaves and roots meet.
Temperatures between 60-80℉ are ideal, and they can withstand temps as low as 55℉. However, these tropical houseplants love warmer conditions, so the warmer, the better!
