Sheriauna Haase, born missing part of her left arm, made her world championships debut in 2023. She placed fifth in the women’s T47 100m clocking a Canadian record 12.42 seconds in the final.
In 2017, her mother Sherylee Honeyghan wrote a book titled I am Sheriauna, a children's book about her daughter and her disability. It was featured by CBC and is a book to educate children about disabilities and how stares and words can hurt.
Haase has been a patient at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital since she was 18 months old and is now a hospital ambassador. She was also a face of Holland Bloorview’s seventh annual Capes for Kids campaign, which aimed to raise $1 million and spark conversations around childhood disability and inclusion.
In 2021, she was quoted in the New York Times for her opinion on the Pixar film Luca in which the main character is missing an arm.
Besides competing at the 2024 Paralympics her future goals are to be an actor and dancer.
