Rax Roast Beef Stays Open During Coronavirus

At a time when many of Joliet's West Jefferson Street restaurants are temporarily closed, Rax is keeping its drive-thru window open.

JOLIET, IL —Since the outbreak of the new coronavirus outbreak reached Illinois, several of Joliet's sit-down restaurants are choosing to stay closed along the city's busy West Jefferson Street. Rax Roast Beef, on the other hand, is staying open.

For the time being, Rax has closed its dining room, and employees are not allowing any walk-in customers inside to order. However, Rax is keeping its drive-thru window open for orders, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Rax is also advertising a two regular roast beef special for $5.99.

Rax is one of the latest small businesses to fill out Joliet Patch's simple online survey to let everyone know whether they are open and current hours of operations during the coronavirus outbreak. Besides operating the drive-thru window, Rax also wants customers to know that they can order their meals online through DoorDash, Grubhub and Uber Eats.
