Last year, PENNY already redesigned the store concept to be more kund:innen friendly, and now comes the next sensation. For the first time, the newly opened PENNY store in central Burgenland has a service counter for meat. Here, a trained butcher prepares quality meat for customers at the best price. In the branch, you can also see through a window into the cold store, where fresh meat is stored in the spirit of "nose to tail" in order to process as many parts as possible.

"We are very proud to be able to open our first Burgenland branch in the new, exclusive design with another novelty today. For the first time, PENNY has a service counter for meat. We are thus providing Weppersdorf with even more freshness and products at the best price-performance ratio. The new PENNY store is a regional showcase project. It makes us the right store for daily shopping, a regional partner and an employer for 13 employees," says PENNY Managing Director Ralf Teschmit.

The new store concept, with a sales area of over 990 m2, invites customers to sample the regional variety of fruits and vegetables, baked goods, dairy products, sausage and meat products, and convenience foods. Customers can expect attractive private label and comprehensive brand products, which are quick and easy to find thanks to the new store concept. All the promotional items from the flyer are clearly presented in one area, making them easy for customers to find.

Unique service offer at PENNY

PENNY is the only discount store that also has butchers who advise customers and fulfill individual meat requests. To counteract food waste, all meat cuts are processed from "nose to tail". Larger quantities or personal requests can also be pre-ordered directly via an order form in the store or at penny.at/vorbestellen. The fresh pork, chicken, or beef from the "Ich bin Österreich" private label comes 100% from Austria and is also slaughtered in this country. Freshness is also a priority in the fruit and vegetable department: Frischeheld:innen provide fresh fruit and vegetables all day long.

Domestic product variety is in PENNY

PENNY relies on high-quality local products: Many items of the regional private label "Ich bin Österreich" ("I am Austria") with more than 200 items from reliable local production come directly from local suppliers. In addition, PENNY also scores in the organic segment: the private label "ECHT BIO!" offers a high-quality assortment of certified organic foods at attractive prices. Bread and pastries come fresh several times a day directly from the store's oven. With "Food For Future", the brand discounter has its own vegan, climate-neutral brand. The motto is Variety Satisfied Renunciation: pea-based vegan mince, vegan meat sausage, oat milk, or vegan cheese underscore the product variety. "My team and I will convince our customers with expert advice and quality PENNY products from the region," says store manager Michaela Rozenits, looking forward to working at the newly opened store.

PENNY supports social projects and focuses on sustainability

As a partner of the Austrian Red Cross, PENNY is committed to helping society. Initiatives such as the PENNY Family Relief Fund support people in emergency situations. As a member of the klima:aktiv pakt2020 of the Federal Ministry for Sustainability, PENNY has committed itself to using resources sparingly and reducing CO2 emissions. For example, the entire PENNY store network is supplied with 100 percent green electricity. The reduction of plastic is also a concern for the brand discount store: for example, 127 tons of fruit and vegetables have already been saved since 2018.
