Fritzens is situated on the lower parts of the Gnadenwald Terrace in the Unterinntal region. Fritzens has long been inhabited. 1917 ruins of a settlement that can be dated 600 B.C. were found above the village. The pottery that was found during the excavation work shows similarities to the one of the Trentian Sanzeno ("Fritzens-Sanzeno-culture"). Fritzens is closely linked with nearby Wattens. There is no other village in which the Swarovski Company has had such a strong impact. Swarovski started to build homes for its employees in 1952 which lead to a growth of the village. More than 100 years ago the clearly visible brick factory was built around the clay pit in the west of the village.
