Dr. Dominik Nischwitz — or "Dr. Dome" — is an entrepreneur, biohacker, and international leader in biological dentistry from Germany.

As the founder of Europe's first biological dentistry center and a well-known online personality, Dr. Dome is passionate about inspiring others to create optimal health by "starting in the mouth."

Now, here's his exclusive interview with UltimateHuman.Org:

What originally inspired you to get into health/ wellness?

I actually never wanted to become a dentist (LOL!). It wasn't appealing because I never saw my dad; he was always working in his dental office. In my teenage years, I wanted nothing more than becoming a pro skater.

But by chance, when I was working as a paramedic for civil service, I was put into the dental clinic for an internship. The surgeon thought I was already a student and so I found myself extracting tons of rotten teeth.

I had zero purpose at this time and wasn't sure what to do in life, so I applied for dental school and got started without knowing what to expect.

I liked the craft of the profession, but something was missing the whole 5 years. I partied hard and crashed mentally early in my 20s.

I needed to find solutions to get my health back, so I started working out.

This was when I learned, absorbed, and applied everything about nutrition & supplements that I soon would put to good use in my residency with a famous surgeon.

In his office, I noticed he was still using silver amalgam fillings. Besides being ugly and "old school," I also knew my dad wasn't using amalgam because it was somewhat toxic.

So, I investigated this topic... and then a whole new world of integrative medicine opened up in front of my eyes—

I got addicted instantly.

I spent all my money to get educated by the best doctors around the world, who were creating holistic health concepts to empower patients to reach optimal health.

In retrospect, getting sick was the best thing that could have happened because it lead me to become the doctor I would have needed back then.

What’s your favorite part about working in health?

The most fulfilling thing is to be able to truly help my patients heal and get healthy — as well as inspiring millions by teaching about optimal health (which I believe starts in the mouth).

On the other hand, I also love to create systems & concepts that can be adopted by other dentists or doctors. This is why I teach and mentor Biological Dentistry 2.0 — the overlap of high tech dentistry, functional medicine, and health optimization to other open-minded practitioners.

What are you most proud of in your career so far?

I am proud that I was able to stay true to my path to change the way how dentistry is done — despite the obstacles and hate I received from colleagues during the first 10 years.

Now, biological dentistry is finally becoming a trend and I hope that this will help many patients reach optimal health — by starting in their mouth.

I am very proud that I was able to open up the first center for Biological Dentistry in Europe: The DNA Health&Aesthetics Center for Biological Dentistry. With my dad, myself, and our whole team, we made this goal a reality for thousands of our worldwide patients.

I am also very proud of my book "It's All in Your Mouth," and of starting my supplement company, Supz Nutrition.

Lastly, I'm proud of connecting with inspiring game changers — a group I like to call "The Health Avengers" — to make health more "fashionable."

Besides all the career things, I'm most proud of my wife, Steffi, who was with me on the journey since I was 21 years old, and of our 3 boys: Max, Karl and Louis (as well as #4 that's on the way right now!).

What’s something new in health/ wellness you wish more people knew about?

It is not really new... but unfortunately it's still the #1 missing link to optimal health that nobody is talking about:

Oral interference (A.K.A. "The 3 Health Killers" — Metals, Root Canals and "Cavitations.")

So, it's my mission to teach all health coaches, doctors, and dentists about oral health, and its implications for overall optimal health.

I also want to reach those suffering out there from subpar health... and the ones who want to become "superhuman" — which I believe we all are born as.

Ultimately, we should never neglect the mouth because it's an extension of your brain and "the entrance to your body."

If you could wave a magic wand and fix something about the modern-day healthcare system, what would it be?

I would turn the whole system upside down and teach humans that disease might be merely a concept. Instead of seeing health as absence of disease, we could truly strive if we knew more about the concept of "optimal health."

Optimal health is an investment. Everyone can start today by implementing strategies to "get as old as possible while staying as young as possible."

It would make the world a bit more healthy.

What are you most excited about in the future of health?

I am very much excited about all the new technologies and remedies that are developing in warp-speed right now:

Peptides, precision medicine, health optimization...

And also dentistry's transition from a "repair business" into a health optimization craft.

Nature has it right: A healthy body is immune against tooth decay.

So, I see a future where we wont need dental repair anymore...

But until then, I want as many dentists as possible to learn about Biological Dentistry 2.0 — the overlap of high-tech dentistry, functional medicine, and health optimization (with the goal of optimal health).

Is there anything else you’d like to add? A message you’d like to share?

Wherever you are right now on your health journey, know that there is always a solution if you just focus on it.

It all starts with your decision to change. You can take full responsibility and ownership of your body/health and find someone who can help you or coach you.

Remember you are NOT alone. Look for the right community and adopt a healthier lifestyle by changing your daily habits.

Also if you're already doing everything you can to optimize your health, but still NOT feeling "superhuman," remember that there might be some chronic inflammations in your mouth ("The 3 Health Killers") that might be putting you in constant stress mode.

Remember: Optimal health starts in your mouth.

Cheers,

Dr. Dome
