Symphytum azureum is a vigorous, spreading, hairy perennial with pale to mid-green leaves.One-sided sprays of hanging, tubular bright blue flowers appear in late spring and early summer.
Those coveting the exquisite blue of some himalayan poppies but are like most of us unable to keep them alive might try this; it,s as lovely a blue but anyone can grow it.Of low height and tidy habit, but remember it is a comfrey with deep roots so once established can be difficult to dig out, - only plant where it can stay.
Grows best in moist soil in full or partial sun but would probably survive almost anywhere.
