Surrounded by dazzling snow-capped peaks in the winter and green mountain meadows in the summer, Hochfilzen Biathlon Stadium is one of the oldest, yet most up-to-date stadiums on the BMW IBU World Cup circuit, having been most recently renovated for the 2017 IBU WCH. Sitting above the village, almost any spot in the stadium offers multiple views of the tracks that loop in close proximity to the shooting range. Since hosting its first Biathlon World Championships in 1978, the small Tyrollean village of Hochfilzen comes alive annually during World Cup week, offering fans a taste of regional food and music, after a day in the usually sun-splashed stadium.

How to get there
Our recommendation is to travel to Hochfilzen using public transport - so that is either via train or via free shuttle service (Pillerseetal Region and from Saalfelden via Leogang to Hochfilzen). The stadium is a 10-minute walk from the bus stop and the train station. Arriving by car is also possible and the parking lot is right after crossing underneath the train to the right-hand side.
