What's the Story?
UNDRESSED is a reality series where two strangers are paired together for 30 minutes before deciding if they want to date each other. The catch? They must do it without their clothes on. Each episodes features two 30-minute dates, during which time the strangers meet on a studio set that includes nothing but a bed and a video screen. After initial introductions, they are given instructions via the screen to strip each other down to their underwear. What follows are a series of exercises designed to help them determine if they are attracted to each other. At the end of the 30 minutes, each must determine if they are interested in dating the other person.
Is It Any Good?
This awkward social experiment underscores the idea that it's important to focus on more in-depth details about a person rather than rely on superficial dating apps and similar attempts at digital matchmaking. The vulnerable position that the participants are put in is intended to encourage them to be more genuine with each other during the process.
Undressed is voyeuristic, and feels even more so when participants are asked to do more risqué things like silently flirting, kissing, and (sort of) simulating sexual activity. Nonetheless, it may give viewers old enough to handle it some food for thought when it comes to thinking about the kinds of things we should really be thinking about when looking for someone to love.
