But James Spader was the ultimate family man when he stepped out in New York with his partner Leslie Stefanson and their son Nathaneal on Saturday.
The 55-year-old sported his trusty beige hat as he held their leash for their beloved canine, who trailed beside his scootering son.

James looked relaxed as he followed his red head girlfriend, who kept cool in a floral top and tight shorts.
The actor's son rolled just behind him on a scooter, clad in a plaid shirt, red shorts, and a helmet.
Nathaneal is James' youngest child; the actor is also father to two sons with his ex-wife Victoria Kheel.

The actor was also spotted taking a phone call, however he did not appear to be joined by his family at that time.
James looked to be enjoying every moment of quality time with his family, as he was spotted only months ago hard at work filming The Blacklist.
The programme is centred around the highly articulate and intelligent businessman and mastermind played by James.

Describing his character as a 'dangerous charmer', James discussed how his career consisted of a mix of both antagonists and protagonists in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
'He's a dangerous charmer....I've always tried to go back and forth between playing good guys and bad guys, and I think what I’ve ended up with, in the end, is playing a lot of good guys where the bad is also evident, and playing a lot of bad guys where the good is also evident.
'At a certain point, I tried more and more to meld the two. Maybe it was just because it was just more interesting for me.'
The hit NBC series will premiere its third season in October.
