Solo: A Star Wars Story's Alden Ehrenreich has jumped aboard Marvel's Ironheart series for Disney+.
According to The Wrap, Ehrenreich will play a key part opposite Dominique Thorne's young inventor Riri Williams, who reverse-engineers Tony Stark's supersuit and becomes a hero in her own right.
He joins a cast for the six-episode first season which also includes Anthony Ramos, Manny Montana and Lyric Ross.

In the original Ironheart comic books, Tony's beloved partner Pepper Potts mentors Riri in a similar manner to how he helped out Peter Parker in the MCU.
Therefore, it'll be interesting to see whether or not Gwyneth Paltrow makes a cameo on the show alongside its star Thorne – especially after hinting she was open to a Marvel return one day.
Perhaps there's also a hint of destiny about Ehrenreich's casting, because just a couple of years ago, the Oppenheimer and Brave New World actor was asked about a possible MCU debut.
"To me it's always, who's behind it, who's the director? Or in this case, the showrunner? And what sort of role?" he exclusively said to Digital Spy.
"Because some of these genre pieces, whether it's action, superhero stuff, or horror, or whatever, sometimes have tremendous depth. Is the person who's making it really in love with the thing that they're making?

"Or is it sort of a money thing? And some of these bigger things do feel like they really have this great vision behind them.
"So it's always like, it's hard to categorically know, I take it on a case by case basis."
Ahead of her own Disney+ spin-off show, Thorne's Ironheart is set to officially introduce herself in the MCU in this autumn's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has a release date of November 11. The first movie is streaming now on Disney+.
