On Sunday, Princess Switch star Vanessa Hudgens walked the red carpet at the Academy Awards in Los Angeles and revealed she is expecting her first child with MLB shortstop Cole Tucker. The pair were married last December in Tulum, Mexico, after three years together. The couple first met in 2020.

The High School Musical star wore a floor-length black Vera Wang Couture gown with long sleeves, a mock turtleneck, and a trailing skirt. The gown hugged her figure, showing off her obvious baby bump, which she cradled for emphasis. Her hands were covered in rings, and she was wearing a Chopard necklace with yellow and white diamonds and earrings from their Haute Joailler collection. She had her long black hair swept up and away from her face and a smokey eye with a red lip.

For the big night, Hudgens was tapped to co-host ABC’s Countdown to Oscars: On the Red Carpet Live! at the Dolby Theatre. She shared details of her wedding with Vogue in December, describing the ceremony at museum Azulik City of Arts, which she said was “45 minutes into the jungle.”

“I knew that it was our place,” she explained. “I felt like I was transported to some kind of utopia, unlike anything I had ever been to before. It was whimsical and magical, and I just fell in love.”

Hudgens has discussed having children before in an interview with Nylon, saying, “I always thought I would be married at 25, because that’s when my mom got married, and then when that didn’t happen, I was like, ‘Oh, OK. So we’re just going to shift everything back a bit.’ I always thought that around 36, 37 is when I would want to have kids, and that still plays. I don’t feel panicked about it.”
