| Technique | Handmade from pine finished using the Japanese method of Yakisugi. This creates a beautifully layered, contoured yet smooth surface with a rich deep colour. The technique enhances the grain of the wood as different types of grain burn at different speeds and to different depths. As the charred surface is removed, the beauty of the wood's grain is revealed. This process cures the wood meaning there is no need for any chemical additives, treatments or finishes
