The Cache
You're looking for a camouflaged screwtop container with log only.
The Location
The cache is placed 1.3 km from SH58 along the Haywards Track. This 4WD track winds over steep terrain between the Dry Creek loop and the Haywards substation. It is part of the Belmont Regional Park.
Parking
The eastern entrance to Haywards Track is from Haywards Hill Road (SH 58), opposite the Haywards substation. As you drive up the hill look for a short gravel road that briefly runs parallel to the highway, leading to a steel barrier. Pull in to the access road, stop, and reverse a little so the road is not blocked.
Helm's Deep
The cache is 1.3 km along the 4WD track overlooking Winstones Quarry. The quarry was used as a set for the Lord of the Rings movie. The film crew took over the quarry to build the castle of Helm's Deep which is attacked by thousands of Orcs. When the Helm's Deep filming ended, the quarry became the city of Minas Tirith, featuring in the third film.
