Protest march against the judgment Schattendorf. The Schattendorf judgment was in 1927 triggered the so-called July Revolt in Austria. It is named after the little village Schattendorf in Burgenland. On 30 January 1927 the Social Democratic Workers Party of Austria were held in the small town in Burgenland an assembly; which was fired upon by an inn by members of the Veterans Association of German Austria; whereupon two people were shot. Following was the Schattendorf process. The perpetrators were acquitted by a jury; which was regarded as a scandal and led to riots in Vienna. Jänner 1927 hatte die Sozialdemokratische Arbeiterpartei Österreichs in dem kleinen burgenländischen Ort eine Versammlung abgehalten; die von einem Gasthof aus von Mitgliedern der Frontkämpfervereinigung Deutsch-Österreichs beschossen wurde; worauf zwei Tote und Verletzte zu beklagen waren. Die Täter wurden von einem Geschworenengericht freigesprochen, was als Skandal angesehen wurde und zu gewalttätigen Ausschreitungen in Wien führte. Photographie. 1927.
