Esther Liesch

Seymour - Liesch, Esther Mae Mary (Coonen), age 91, passed away at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour on July 6, 2021.

She was born on July 27, 1929, daughter of Frank and Clara (Hartzheim) Coonen. She married Donald Liesch on July 21, 1948. She became a widow at a very early age and was left caretaker of a young family of seven children. She was a strong, sensitive, hard working person with a very strong faith in God. She provided her children with an excellent example.

She is survived by her children: Bruce (Donna), Brian (Diane), Beverly (Richard) Moeller, Mary Jo (David) Koury, Donald, David (Char), and Michael; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; one sister, Helen Coonen; sisters-in-law: Yvonne Burrows, Delores Liesch; and brother-in-law, Merrill "Butch" Liesch.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Liesch; parents: Frank and Clara Coonen; siblings: Derbert (Margaret) Coonen, Josephine (Basil) Milheiser, Emery (Edna) Coonen, Melvin (Isabella) Coonen, Francis (Evelyn) Coonen; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Vi and Nick Liesch; brothers-in-law: Vernon Liesch and John Burrows.

Visitation will take place at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Seymour, on Monday, July 12, 2021 from 9:30 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am with Fr. Sengole Dass, O. Praem and Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.

Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Over the years she made so many dear friends that meant so much to her, Red Hat Group, special friends of St. Judes, her after church coffee group of St. Johns, her faithful transportation, Mary Ann, Margaret, and Alice, Father Bob, Deacons Rich and Paul. Special thanks to the staff at Good Shepherd and Unity Hospice for all of your wonderful and compassionate care.
