While building his dream footballer, Kaka named Erling Haaland when it came to the category of “strength.”

The retired legend briefly discussed Haaland’s strength while speaking to GOAL, which has been a topic of discussion ever since his name started to do the rounds during his time at RB Salzburg.

Like many No.9’s of the past, the Manchester City striker’s frame is such that many defenders would understandably be petrified of going toe-to-toe with him.

Kaka says Erling Haaland is “very powerful”

However, what differentiates Haaland from the rest is how incredibly rapid he is for a man of his stature.

One can go on and on about the Norwegian’s several attributes that make him a special player but this one-of-a-kind blend of pace and power is perhaps what sets him apart from several top strikers from the past.

Kaka also admitted that if he were to pick a player to provide sheer strength to his dream footballer, he would pick Erling Haaland.

“[Erling] Haaland. He’s very strong, very powerful”, he told GOAL.

It’s safe to assume that several fans and pundits alike would also opt for the £51 million (Eurosport) man when it comes to this category.

When Erling Haaland masters how to use his strength, it’s game over

While Kaka was justified in lauding how strong Erling Haaland is, it is worth discussing how he uses his strength.

So far, it is fair to say that this very aspect of the Leeds-born goalscorer’s game is still developing.

During Manchester City’s 4-1 thrashing of Arsenal in April last year, Haaland bullied the Gunners’ defence, as he showcased that he is well capable of operating as a target man as well.

But in several other games, the ex-Borussia Dortmund No.9 struggles to impose himself using his strength, such as during his physical battle against Antonio Rudiger in the Champions League last season.

Once Erling Haaland masters this skill, however, defenders have every reason to worry.
