Opinion
The Burg Hohenzollern is the new flagship Architecture set from BlueBrixx with almost 9000 pieces. However, one cannot help but wonder if she is to big to her own good.
The instruction system is at least struggling. One spends a lot of time searching for the places where the pieces need to be installed. With up to 25 steps on a double page, orientation is also not always easy.
The design, on the other hand, is very consistent and surprisingly depicts the castle well. Friends of astonishing building techniques also get their money’s worth, especially in the upper third of the castle. However, here one also notices a difference. BlueBrixx Castle Wartburg practically shines from the start with fascinating building, while the Burg Hohenzollern takes a lot of building time to achieve volume and mass, with larger pieces and simpler techniques.
Price-wise, it is a very attractive set, although I would have gladly paid 100 euros more for better quality pieces like in Löwenstein Castle.
