Whitefish Ladies' League

This was the 12th year of the once-per-year Women of Whitefish event where both the 9-hole and 18-hole ladies' leagues play together.

The pre-game competition began with putting and driving the marshmallow, which Linda Randall won.

The golf game of the day was step-aside scramble. First place with a score of 37 was the team of Cathy Munger, Pat Montgomery and Kay Olson. Second place went to Cheryl Bontrager, Kathy Brodin and Deb Enger with a score of 38. Third place went to Maxine Riches, Connie Weber, Clarise Skallman and Barb Rowe with a 39.

Prizes went to Pat Montgomery and Ginny Sitzer for closest to the pin on Nos. 4 and 7. Longest drive on No. 3 also went to Montgomery and longest drive on No. 5 went to Enger.

Sherrie Adam (18-hole league) and Sue Loechler (9-hole league) each won a membership to the league for the 2017 season.

Nancy Einan, Susan Finley, Kay Olson and Marilyn McKeehen planned the event.

Breezy Point Ladies' League

The Breezy Point Ladies Golf League played at Whitebirch on Thursday, Aug. 25. The format was Ryder Cup with two-person teams.

The first flight winners were: first place - Sue Skinner and Judy Thomas; second - Sandy O'Day and Martha Polsfuss; third - Joi Brandt and Kathy McTague. The second flight winners were: first place - Joan Burnett and Betty Huseby; tied for second - Bunny Oseland and Bugs Schmidt, and Carol Reiland and Sylvia Schmitt.
