Rumour: Sony issues PSP 2 development kits
|

Develop is reporting that Sony has sent out development kits for the PSP’s successor to key game studios.

The PlayStation publisher reportedly wants to create a “significant launch window line-up”, so Sony has been spreading dev kits to development studios - both third-party and in house - widely.

The PSP 2, the inevitable follow up to Sony’s portable game system, has been the source of many rumours and speculation, but the Japanese gaming giant has remained completely mum about any such system.

The only info it's offered is that the company will likely stick with physical distribution for the next portable platform.

Earlier this month, the new Mortal Kombat creator Netherrealm Studios professed to having a PSP 2 kicking about the office, calling the device “pretty powerful”.

The PSP 2 is expected to launch next year, and to go toe-to-toe with Nintendo’s glasses-free 3D platform, the 3DS.
