Undressed, the hit international format that involves two single strangers undressing each other and then talking in a bed for 30 minutes, is coming to the U.S. Bunim-Murray Productions, the company behind The Real World and Born This Way, among other shows, is now casting.
Production will take place in June over four days, and three open casting cals are being held soon, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day:
- Chicago, April 30, Hilton Chicago Magnificent Mile
- New York, May 3, Ripley Grier Studios
- Miami, May 6, Conrad Miami hotel
People age 18 and older can also apply online.
As I wrote earlier this year, the show seems risqué but is actually subtle and charming—at least, the international versions are. Watch these clips and you’ll see.
Disturbingly, one online ad says they’re “looking for hot single individuals.” The fact that the participants on international Undressed are not MTV hot is a big part of what makes it so wonderful.
Based on the press release, Bunim-Murray is going for the same approach, though, asking, “Are you brave enough to undress down to your underwear on camera and reveal your true self to someone you have only just met”? Here’s how the release describes the show:
“Scientific research suggests that attraction can be accelerated by answering increasingly intimate questions within a 30 minute timeframe. Undressed puts the theory to the test and gives two people the opportunity to let go of all inhibitions and undress down to their underwear on camera to reveal their true self to someone just moments after meeting. Is it your time to fall in love?”
