Jordan KALCH (Bulgarian: Yordan Nikolov Kalchev) Jordan, born 1975, lives mainly in Sofia and works in different ancient villages in Bulgaria. He defines his style as an "ongoing experience of escape from realism". Nevertheless, very difficult to say that it has reached any escape from realism. Despite the free techniques in some works, images always constantly appear bright, sharp, vibrant and real. What makes the art of Jordan impactful is the strong contrast of light and touch. At the heart of his latest works always stand significant contrast that highlights with nothing but black. Black is the basis of all creations and the essence of depth perception and black bears completeness of colors. Generally rarely are shown creations of the author that are built entirely in warm and bright colors. As he says often happens to paint in bright and positive for various momentary emotional issues. But also often alone destroyed completed works dissatisfied with the outcome. Although the author never capture motion and images are frozen, there is always a magic, caught a moment when the circle of life stops for a split second, which transforms into an endless experience of the canvas. Whatever creates author's paintings have a sense of unexpected ending and unfinished journey. Strangely been started and unfinished and provide their end on the spectator. As the author himself says, the time a picture is ready is super spontaneous and occurs as a sensation in the process. Upon the occurrence of such a moment, the author signed picture and never in any way change the work ahead. Extremely early, the author has learned to paint with colors. Long before he started to go to school and can not read, he made many impressive and complex compositions with watercolor. At school he became totally uninteresting and refuses to paint with colors. Because, according to himself, he was at a very different level from different teachers and classmates. Then he began working exclusively without colors and so on for a decade passes through experiments with pencils, charcoal and ink. Any attempt to work with colors, wear unsatisfactory results until it reaches the period in which he managed to paint entirely black and somehow colorful picture works in his own way. Although for long periods of time working with acrylic paints, he does not deviate much to the techniques of watercolor and often continued to his favorite technique of oil painting.
