Lauren Alaina’s Nashville wedding day included a special tribute to the first man to have her heart: her father.

The country star recently revealed that she wrote and recorded a song specifically for the father-daughter dance at her nuptials to Cam Arnold earlier this month. The song, "My Old Man," celebrates Alaina’s strong bond with her father, J.J. Suddeth, as well as his relationship with her new husband.

"I wrote this song for my daddy for our daddy/daughter dance. It was such a special moment during our wedding. I will truly never forget it," the Georgia native captioned a highlight reel from her February 4 wedding day she shared on Instagram this week.

Alaina also included a poignant line from the song: "I knew I found the one when they became best friends / My good ole boy and My Old Man."

“My Old Man” isn’t the first song Alaina has written about her family. Her 2017 single “Doin’ Fine” touches on Suddeth’s alcoholism, his subsequent sobriety, and how they mended their “rocky” relationship.

“Oh my gosh. My dad’s the best. I’m really proud of my daddy,” the American Idol alum told Sounds Like Nashville in 2018. “October 6th will be his five-year anniversary of being sober. So that’s a big one for us. And it’s been really amazing the last few years with his recovery. Our relationship was a little rocky before he went into rehab and now we talk every single day. And he is my daddy and I’m so proud of him.”

“He’s the hardest worker I know,” Alaina continued. “That’s why I work so hard because I grew up watching him do it.”
