What is the difference between download and upload speed?

Download speed is how quickly information is transmitted from the Internet to your computer. When it comes to playing games, watching video and listening to streaming music on the web, this is the key number. Upload speed is how quickly you can send information from your computer to the Internet.

Upload speed is particularly important in 1v1 and multi-player games, where milliseconds can make the difference between winning and losing.
