Robin Haase’s coach arrested in connection with murder of Dutch businessman

The coach of the Dutch tennis No1, Robin Haase, has been arrested in connection with the murder of businessman Koen Everink, reports in the Netherlands said on Thursday.

Mark de Jong, who has coached the world No 59 for several years, was detained at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport on Thursday morning after arriving back from overseas.

“I am shocked. I can’t say any more than that at the moment,” Haase was quoted as saying by the news agency ANP.

Everink was found dead at his home on 4 March after being stabbed to death.
