A / NOE: Jedenspeigen- Sierndorf: Topotheque online

The market town of Jederspeigen-Sierndorf is located in the east of the Weinviertel on the border river March. The Topotheque, which was set up by Andrea and Martin Grünwald, shows almost all aspects of life in the two cadastral communities: castle and crafts, celebrations and theater groups, church festivals and sports, school and numerous details such as traditional feather-tying or the construction of the sewage system in the early 1950s. It is precisely such events that are so special for the development of the village, because they capture views of the streets that would probably not have come about without the occasion. The fact that in the early years of the last century tractors did not need pneumatic tires and carousels were operated by muscle power can be proven here, as can the variety of products in the Pawelka department store: if you need a doormat or a rake, a meter of fabric or “women‘s praise”, travel to Jedenspeigen into the 1930s. Here you will see that our word for „biscuit“ (Keks) was still written in English back then.
