Castle Hochosterwitz, first mentioned in 860, is considered to be one of Austria's most impressive medieval castles. Since 1541 in the hands of the Princely Family of Khevenhüller, some parts are open to the public.
Every year the castle, with a collection of prehistoric artefacts, paintings, weapons, and armour, can be visited from Easter to the end of October.
