Hello Upper East Siders! Wait, no. Based on Blake Lively’s latest outfit, we should be saying hello Lower East Siders. The actor, best known for playing UES it-Girl Serena Van Der Woodsen, and her husband Ryan Reynolds went for a stroll in New York City this morning dressed like they could just as easily be enjoying a night out south of Houston.

Lively looked cozy in a thick taupe cable-knit sweater, tucking her hair into the pullover’s wide mock neck, which she wore with a pair of loose blue jeans and hiking boots. This footwear choice makes her the latest star to support the cause célèbre: Wrong Shoe Theory. She carried a black sequined Chanel crossbody bag, giving the more utilitarian outfit an evening flair.

Reynolds looked ever the part of a hipster boyfriend in a Bode sweater. The tan knit, which retails for $850, features an image of a cowboy riding through the desert on horseback and, per Bode, “is inspired by a novelty children’s sweater, circa 1960s.” He wore a pair of slim-fitting, pleated khaki trousers, a pair of white tennis shoes, and carried a metallic pink puffer in his hand. In a nod to hipster culture of yore, Reynolds also rocked a gray beanie and thick black frames.

The couple were later joined on their walk by Hugh Jackman, presumably celebrating his 55th birthday. He, however, did not get the memo about the dress code and opted for a sportier look, wearing a black Under Armour tracksuit. There go any hopes of the three of them starting a venture capital-funded literary magazine or a provocative podcast!
