About Elbigenalp

Elbigenalp, the main town in the Lech Valley, lies snuggled between the Lechtal and Allgäu mountains. Numerous well-groomed hiking trails in the green pastures and side valleys instill unforgettable impressions. For those more adventuresome alpine types, many high-altitude huts await you, which are also starting-out points for the ascent of many peaks. The Große Krottenkopf, Hochvogel, Lechtaler Wetterspitze or Parseierspitze are only a few of the possibilities.

Village with tradition

The focal point of the catholic community is the parish church St. Nikolaus, which had been restored and remodelled only a few years ago. At festive occasions the marching band plays and partcipants in the processions wear the traditional costumes. Other events include the traditional "Tyrolean Evenings", outdoor concerts by the music band and many other entertaining highlights.

Thers is no time for boredom: Tennis, swimming pool with huge slide, open-air chess, boccia lane, adventure playground, disco, traditional Tyrolean evenings, concerts in the town square, indoor shooting range, guided hikes, alpine pasture huts, chalets with food and drink (1/2 - 1 hour walk) are just some of the entertainment options of which you can take advantage.

The Skiing Town

Only about 20km away lies Warth am Arlberg, a huge ski resort. Easy to get to by public bus or car. With the new ski gondola connection "Auenfeldjet", the Nature Park Region Lech Valley has access to the largest ski resort on the Arlberg! Enjoy wonderful winter days on a snowy walk along fields of deep powder, on the emmaculately groomed cross-country trails or experience the greatest ski area on the Arlberg with 340 km of pistes and 94 lifts. A ski school, 2 beginner's lifts and one long tow-lift are in town. The Jöchlspitzbahn (chairlift) is only about 4 km away from Elbigenalp and has an elevation of 500m, a 3 km-long run and a summit restaurant.

For Nordic skiers, Elbigenalp is ideal: machine-groomed trails so you can cross-country through the entire valley - up and back - 2 x 50 km!

Or simply take in the pristine landscape and pure air, admire the beautiful mountain scenery or cuddle next to a warm tiled stove ...
