Hey everybody, I'm Taryn Southern from The Single Life.

We've all had to say I'm sorry to our significant other

at some point in our lives,

but sometimes we have to do a little bit more

than just utter those two tiny words.

Here are my three secrets to saying I'm sorry successfully.

(whispering) Secret number one.

Always say you're sorry

even when you aren't totally sure

what you're sorry about.

I know this sounds really counterintuitive

but the truth is, none of us ever get tired

of hearing apologies from our significant other.

Am I right?

Please, I'm so sorry.

I really, I'm genuinely sorry.

Plus, it's better to safe than sorry.

(whispering) Secret number two.

No apology is too grand.

Sorry goes very well with flowers, chocolates,

candy, cute kittens.

She says she's so sorry.

Organizing flash mobs, singing songs on ukuleles.

You want your significant other

to know how much you care and how sorry you really are.

I'm just watering your fountain 'cause I'm sorry.

(whispering) Secret number three.

Secret number three is easy to remember

because it is the three times rule.

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

Three times minimum for your significant other

to believe that you're actually sorry.

Why do you have to say I'm sorry three times over?

Well, you have to give your significant other time

to process the apology.

Give them a moment of anger,

a moment of ambivalence,

and then a moment of acceptance.

I'm sorry YouTube audience if you're having a bad day today.

I really, really am sorry.

I actually bought you this soap bird

in an effort to make you feel better.

It actually doubles as a nice candle.

And I really hope that you can accept my apology.

Again, I'm sorry.

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

Success.

So, there you have it, my three secrets

to delivering a successful apology.
