Grossglockner High-Alpine Road

The most famous alpine road ends in front of the pièce de résistance of Hohe Tauern National Park: the highest mountain and the largest glacier in Austria, the Grossglockner (3,798 m) and the Pasterze.
On the drive up to the 1500 m Kaiser Franz Josefs Höhe, you will cross all vegetation zones, from grain fields to a world of eternal ice. You will then continue to the enchanting village of Heiligenblut, popular with mountaineers, through magnificent Iseltal valley in East Tyrol, then back along the Felbertauernstraße.
