Wargaming partners with RAF Museum to display last Dornier 17 aircraft

The last Dornier Do 17 aircraft — a German bomber from World War II — will be held on display at the Royal Air Force Museum (RAF) in London following its complete restoration, World of Warplanes developer Wargaming announced today.

Once restoration is complete, the plane will go on display in the Wargaming.net Interpretation Zone of the London museum. Pieces of the aircraft are currently on display; a full restoration is expected by next year.

The Dornier 17 was retrieved from a watery grave in the Goodwin Sands off the southeast coast of England in 2013. Earlier this year, Wargaming released an augmented-reality mobile app called Apparition that allowed users to take a virtual tour of the aircraft.

Wargaming.net previously supported the recovery efforts of British World War II-era Spitfires, found in Burma.
